AFC Industries has acquired a suburban Chicago distributor of engineered fasteners and related components, company officials announced.

Signature Engineered Solutions, located in Aurora, Illinois, provides metal and plastic fasteners, specialty threaded products, clips, clamps, springs, rivets and precision machined components to a range of end markets, including the construction, heavy equipment, automotive, energy and HVAC sectors.

SES, the company added, also provides third-party logistics services for manufacturers and distributors, including warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, import and supplier consolidation, kitting, labeling, light assembly, inspection and custom packaging. 

AFC officials said the deal would strengthen its engineered component capabilities and add a staff with both technical expertise and “longstanding relationships with leading manufacturers in the engineered fastener market.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As AFC continues to grow, we're looking for businesses that bring something meaningful to the organization: expertise, capabilities, customer relationships and people who fit our culture,” AFC CEO Kevin Godin said in a statement. “SES checks all of those boxes.”

“Partnering with AFC gives our team and customers access to greater resources, broader capabilities, and a shared commitment to quality and continuous improvement,” added SES’ Reno Fricano.
